Government’s anti-radicalisation programme Prevent to be reviewed over fears it has become a ‘Big Brother’ spying operation amid criticism from Muslim groups
23 Jan 2019
The Daily Mail published an article on Jan 23 2019 stating that the Prevent programme had been “criticised, especially by hardline Muslim groups”
The Centre for Media Monitoring challenged this assertion as opposition to Prevent has come from across the Muslim community as well as other sections of politics, bureaucracy, community groups as well as human rights campaigners both domestically and internationally.
The copy was subsequently changed online to reflect a truer reality of the opposition to Prevent.
