Afghan migrant is jailed for life in Germany for murdering 17-year-old ex-girlfriend who had ended their relationship
06 Feb 2019
The Mail Online published an article online on Feb 06 2019 stating that an Afghan migrant had killed his ex-girlfriend because she had refused to convert to Islam.
In fact this was not the case as the motive as clearly demonstrated in the Court trial and subsequent ‘responsible’ reporting from the German media was in fact jealousy on part of the perpetrator.
After a complaint from The Centre for Media Monitoring the story was subsequently changed and an explanation and apology made in acknowledgment of the misreporting.
